Job Description
This Field Environment Advisor position is a key role in our QGC team, and is required to provide on-site Environment advice/support for field operations. The position will do this through a systematic approach in line with ISO14001 to manage of hazards and effects that can impact on the environment.


Some of the key deliverables and accountabilities of this role are:
     Provide field presence to ensure regulatory compliance and environmental outcomes are achieved by implementing and driving environmental management system
    Providing support on Environmental aspects for the work activities on site covering drilling, work overs, civil works and road maintenance.
    Review Contractor Site Environmental Management Plans, attend kick off and pre-construction meetings and toolboxes to promote awareness of environmental conditions in line with Access To Work  requirements
    Undertake tool box talks and staff awareness training in QGC’s Environmental requirements
    Ensure appropriate documentation and records management processes are maintained for effective tracking of environmental performance
    Be able to provide Environmental and regulatory advice to the facility management team. Particularly relating to the EPBC Act (Cwth) and EP Act (Qld)
    Support compliance with local & State standards and requirements, particularly those associated with the environmental regulatory bodies
    Provide environmental Advice including aspects such as noise, chemical management, CSG water, flora and fauna, soil management, drainage, erosion and sediment control, water quality, waste management, nuisance complaints and rehabilitation

Requirements
The candidate we are therefore seeking for this position, will have/be;
    Participate in HSSE audits, visit worksites to discuss environmental issues with staff and contractors.
    Be able to create a means to work with styles of leaders/supervisors to champion environmental initiatives to achieve Goal Zero
    Be able to challenge the status quo with confidence in environment or ALARP demonstrations and provide steer and guidance for better solutions or controls
    Be able to take the initiative to reach out to the wider environmental peer groups for alignment of environmental processes and willingness to take steer from more experienced peers
    Have the ingenuity to troubleshoot local issues and reach for support locally with the technical environmental team and operational staff
    Tertiary qualification in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management, Ecology or equivalent
    Auditor qualification, specifically ISO14001 (desirable - preferred)

Crucial to the success of this role is the ability to work effectively in/and across multi-functional teams and interface with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, whilst maintaining a high work level of work ethic, being able to work autonomously and being passionate about diving our company’s performance
